There’s no need to download expensive movie maker programs or editing tools. Quicktime Player comes preinstalled and ready for use from your Mac’s desktop.

Here are some instructions to get you started:

Recording A Movie

To record a movie Quicktime works with your built-in camera and microphone. If you’re using OS X Yosemite or later, you can also record the screen of any iOS device.

1.Go to the Finder on your Mac desktop and click on the Applications folder.

2.Double click on Quicktime Player in the Applications folder.

3.Click  File and select “New Movie Recording”.

4.Click the arrow next to the Record button to change the recording settings.

From there choose your camera or iOS device, microphone, and recording quality.

5.Click the Record button to start recording. Click it again to stop recording.

To save, click File at the top of your Desktop and select save. Give your recording a title and click Save at the bottom of the dialog box.
