The Gmail Promotion tab gridview has been axed without any explanations.

The nifty visual representation of emails for your Promotions tab was supposed to make sorting and reading of email newsletters and promos more pleasing. Gmail has removed the feature just over a year after it’s launch. Once you turn it off it vanishes from view.
