4 Things to Remember While Creating Your Curated Newsletter
Jun 14, 2012
We’re excited to release another post in a new series from the team at FlashIssue. It’s an inside look at what we’re doing now and the big things we have coming next.
Hey Everyone,
I hope your curated email journeys are going well and you are having lots of success!
I’ve been learning a lot lately, while having success, I do have some bumps in the road, and I know that I’m not alone!
No one wants to be a bother, or be bothered for that matter! So, let’s look at some ways improve your newsletter, in a non-annoying way! Here are a couple of tips, that have helped me and hopefully will help guide you on your email newsletter journey.
Content makes a difference
If you don’t look at any other tips, look at this! Content is so important to get (and keep) subscribers. If you have relevant information that is directly related to your industry and is interesting…I’ll say it again…interesting, you won’t have to worry about unsubscribers do to boredom.
People are visual
Don’t you always find yourself getting sucked in by pictures, videos, animations, etc.? Me too. So, try it out! Add visuals to catch your audience’s eyes.
Me, me, me
Write your newsletter for your audience, not for you or your company. It’s a great way to promote your business, but remember that people want to read things that are significant to them. Otherwise, guess what? Yep, they’re unsubscribing. Meeting somewhere in the middle is what I’ve found works for me.
Help!
Lastly, there is no shame in asking for help. Help with anything. Finding content, visuals, great topics to write on, and most importantly help on editing before your newsletter goes out! We are a team here at Flashissue and everyone has their strengths, so we work together to send out the best newsletters we can.
We’re really excited about the new features we’ve launched for our web app.
Your bound to have ups and downs, so keep researching, asking questions, and improving! Put in the effort and you will see results.
