Curating content is a great way to boost the effectiveness of your newsletters.

If you have a WordPress blog you can be up and running as a content curator in no time.

Once the content is in your blog, you’re a small step away from being able to add these same articles to a newsletter or social media campaign.

How do i create curated content for my WordPress Blog?

Simple, the tool we’re be using is called Press This; a tool native to the WordPress platform albeit some what buried :

 

 Install the Create Content Press This bookmarketlet

  1. Login to your WordPress admin site (www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin)
  2. Go to Dashboard > Tools > Available Tools
  3. Drag the *Press This* button to your browser’s bookmark bar
  4. Navigate to a web page, such as a blog post on another site, highlight the text you want to use to create your own post.
  5. Click the *Press This* bookmark on your browser
  6. This will pop up a box that allows you to create your own post

It’s really that simple. Once you’ve installed the bookmarklet and got comfortable with it you can start curating content for your blog and then start using the articles in your newsletters.

There’s a bunch of other techniques you can use around curating (key word strategy, commentary and analysis, SEO tips etc) but we wont go into these here.
